The InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) – IHG Hotels & Resorts, in collaboration with the Indonesian MMS Land Group, is proud to introduce the first property of the Hotel Vignette Collection in Indonesia.
Following extensive renovations, the 74 rooms and suites of Rumah Luwih Bali, situated on the beach in Gianyar Regency, are now operating as a Vignette Collection Property. The management is dedicated to preserving and celebrating local culture while delivering exceptional service to their guests.
This new property places a strong emphasis on catering to unique lifestyles and luxury, with a commitment to making a positive impact on guests, the environment, and even the universe.
Designed for travelers seeking both luxury and intimacy, each room boasts distinctive characteristics that evoke unique reactions from every observer.
Chris Anklin, Senior Director of Development for South East Asia & Korea at IHG Hotels & Resorts, commented on the rapid expansion of IHG in Indonesia, with 24 hotels currently operational and 15 more in development.
“With many Indonesian destinations experiencing rapid growth, Bali remains a key international and domestic tourism hub. We have a wealth of experience in managing hotels with a strong focus on luxury and lifestyle concepts in Bali, including award-winning properties such as Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, and Hotel Indigo,” Anklin said.
Andre Chandra Biantoro, CEO of MMS Land, added that Rumah Luwih is a hotel designed in a classic colonial style, acquired by MMS Lands in April 2023. Following the acquisition and extensive renovation, the hotel will reopen in 2024 under IHG Management as Indonesia’s first Vignette Collection Hotel. Andre expressed confidence that the hotel’s new incarnation will enhance the overall guest experience and attract more tourists.
He also noted, “IHG’s proven expertise in luxury and lifestyle hotel management, coupled with access to global management systems, will undoubtedly have a positive impact on our business operations.”
Rumah Luwih Bali is located on the eastern coast of Bali, just one hour from Ngurah Rai International Airport. The hotel features an all-day restaurant, a large swimming pool, meeting rooms, a fitness center, and a spa.
When it relaunches as part of the Vignette Collection in 2024, Rumah Luwih Bali will join other Vignette properties, including Convent Square in Lisbon, Portugal; Casa da Companhia in Porto, Portugal; Yours Truly DC in the USA; Hotel X Brisbane in Fortitude Valley, Australia; Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok in Thailand; and Th8 Palm Dubai Beach Resort. An additional 18 Vignette Collection Properties are currently in development, with the group’s goal being to operate 100 hotels by 2031.
